They're off!

My sons came back to Amherst for a 10 day vacation. The semester was over and the holidays awaited. We did a bit of travel but mostly we hung out together. They are on their way back to La Crosse with Taylor's girl friend.

Reminders to myself..

As all of us do. I momentarily forget the things that are most important to me and here I am being given the chance to remind myself.

How do I live my life? What is important? What will others remember about me?

If you believe that you can or cannot, either way you are right. It is most important what you do, not what you say. We learn from our failures not our successes. Money does not buy happiness. A person that has passion about something that they can make a living at, is a happy person indeed.

What is inside us is more important than what is on the outside. Show, don't tell. We cannot change others, we can only change ourselves. When a brick wall or other obstacle is in our way, it is a valuable opportunity to find a solution. Take time to dream. Make your dreams come true. Always be honest- don't lie.

We all make mistakes. When you apologize, make it sincere without expectations of forgiveness. Remember to forgive others. Holding onto negative thoughts only hurts myself. Conversely, positive yet realistic thoughts are healthy for me. Live your life today as if it was your last. Remember to see the humor and love all around you. If you wait long enough people will surprise and impress you. You might have to wait a long time but all of us have good inside us.
